Montenero 0 - 10 Team

12000 punters turned up at Vincenzo De Sanctis, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Cornel Prüssmann was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Donát Somogyi and Lukáš Zářecký. The following players had been chosen: Vitrano - Moletto, Ingenito, Perotti, Matassa - Parmigiani, Del Pizzo, Ferrari, Cuciniello - Adolescente, Pederzoli.

Starters: Botta - Frauenthaler, Balaz - Bach, Piròli, Sali, Boyxonov, Coquel - Olsen, Bergadà, Gleichheit.

U.S. Calcio Montenero fielded a 4-4-2 lineup. For One Eye Team, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. Team demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. 19 minutes into the match, Team's Jan Olsen popped up from nowhere, cheekily stole the ball off an opposition player and scored. 0 - 1. Some fine movement on the left led to a Team goal after 25 minutes, making it 0 - 2. Jan Olsen was noted down as the scorer. Team's Vitaliano Sali got himself booked for a foul. After 31 minutes, Sergio Perotti suffered a slight injury to his left calf muscle. However, it was not enough to stop him from continuing the game. After 32 minutes, Team sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached Maximilian Gleichheit, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 3. After 34 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Andreu Bergadà who increased Team's lead to 0 - 4. Jan Olsen received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 35 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 5. The Team fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. By then Jan Olsen had scored three goals - a hat trick! 0 - 5 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Team, with 69 percent of the ball.

After 57 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Jan Olsen a chance to increase the lead for Team, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6. A drive down the left side allowed Maximilian Gleichheit to get in close and score another goal for Team after 71 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 7. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Team coach let Johan Wilmes replace Tomas Frauenthaler after 75 minutes. Maximilian Gleichheit was handed the Team captain's armband. The Team players could smell victory in the air. Andreu Bergadà wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Umberto Mazzuoli after 75 minutes. The visitors' Vitaliano Sali took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 76 minutes into the match. 0 - 8 for Team. After 81 minutes, Team's Umberto Mazzuoli burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 9. After 83 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Umberto Mazzuoli who increased Team's lead to 0 - 10. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Sergio Perotti from Montenero a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 84 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Vitaliano Sali went down after twisting his right ankle after 84 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. The replacement for the injured player was Francesco Galdi. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 4 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 0 - 10. Team had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.

Montenero's best player was Lorenzo Pederzoli. Aldo Vitrano was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Team player was without a doubt Johan Wilmes. However, Uzbek Boyxonov made a disastrous appearance.
