Strega 2 - 3 Team

19217 spectators arrived at Morgana, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Jon Pettersen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Aníbal Arrieta and Paul Ahrbrück. Lineup: Boambă - Fúquene, Piscazzi, Jeanpierre - Monopoli, Hennig, Blanco, Sá Lopes, Pinga - Blanchart, Gobato.

Starters: Franceschilli - Balaz, Gahleitner, Mattozzi - Coquel, Piròli, Sali, Leonhardsen, Riolfatti - Gleichheit, Olsen.

Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 3-5-2 formation. The referee showed Strega's Giorgio Pinga the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Dimitri Coquel went down after twisting his left ankle after 5 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. The player that took his place was Karsten Bach. A questionable penalty 6 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as Giorgio Pinga knocked the ball home. Karsten Bach came close to levelling the score 10 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. The referee was not popular with the home supporters after he awarded Team a controversial penalty after 22 minutes. Sezai Balaz made no mistake, levelling the score at 1 - 1. The terraces were silenced after 27 minutes when Team's Vitaliano Sali put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right. After 28 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Team was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. Dani Blanchart made a superb strike after 32 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Team claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Dani Blanchart got himself booked. The manager of Strega was not happy. David Gobato showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 69 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 2 - 2 equaliser away. 75 minutes into the game, Team wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Giulio Mattozzi gave Tomas Frauenthaler a quick hug as he left the field. 75 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Team substitution. Johan Wilmes came on for Wolfram Gahleitner. David Gobato slowly got up on his feet, clutching his right thigh, but eventually signalled that he was ready to play on. Team took the lead after Sezai Balaz curved a free kick into the net. 2 - 3 As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 2 - 3. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

Most important Strega player was Damián Fúquene. Juris Jeanpierre was a disappointment, however. Johan Wilmes performed admirably for Team. On the other hand, Sezai Balaz's play was disheartening.
