It had rained all day, but 2553 hardy fans still made it out to The Dark Side Of The Moon. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Heinz-Ulrich Madner and Mikael Nyby. great decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Lineup: Brendle - Hampel, Berning - Sontheimer, Meiburg, Baresi, Anghel, Żłobiński - Schreiber, van der Mije, Gelimer.

Olympic started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Yücel - Vanthournout, Saathoff, Balhar - Palud, Arandia, Koutsoureas, Van Lissum, Vors - Bilmont, Corthouts.

Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 19 minutes into the match, and Lou Bilmont wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. The home crowd was not impressed when Edo Vanthournout came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 30 minutes. Olympic were now up 0 - 2. Lukas Kilian Berning was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. With 37 minutes played, Olympic's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to Lukáš Balhar he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 3. Aiolos Koutsoureas received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 38 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Olympic fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. A drive down the left side allowed Edo Vanthournout to get in close and score another goal for Olympic after 39 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 5. The players of Olympic now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 5. Olympic had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.

The Olympic players could smell victory in the air. Jo Van Lissum wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Delio Quiñones after 46 minutes. An amazing free kick flew past the home keeper 49 minutes into the match, putting Olympic ahead 0 - 6. Christophe Vors was the scorer. Olympic's Ismael Arandia made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 62 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 63 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Olympic's Edo Vanthournout to one side and produced a red card for the player. Torben Saathoff spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch. After 67 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Aiolos Koutsoureas who increased Olympic's lead to 0 - 7. Lou Bilmont increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 8. Olympic claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.

Most important great player was Stefaan van der Mije. On the other hand, Leo Hampel's play was disheartening. Maximiliaan Corthouts performed admirably for Olympic. Vince Palud was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 8.
