The 4109 spectators at Stadion der Weltrevolution were in for an afternoon of sunshine. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and . A 5-2-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Barmbek-Süd. Lineup: Serrano - Misch, Kaisersberger, Nembhard, Buschhaus, Erbes - Krapp, Mönnigmann - Ahrens, Bilić, Schredt.

Desportivo tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Borzęcki - Brown, Ason, Haynes - Stonehouse, Roberto, Borsch, Boute, Malaise - Løvenkrands, Verzelen.

Barmbek-Süd clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their outstanding level with that tactic. Mario Roberto came close to putting the visiting team one up 7 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Íñigo Serrano managed to tip the ball to a corner. Leon Krapp's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. 10 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Dennis Løvenkrands, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. Barmbek-Süd's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 27 minutes gone, but Casimir Ahrens's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Russ Stonehouse had a good opportunity to give Desportivo the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when Colin Boute slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against Íñigo Serrano, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. Halftime score was 0 - 0. Desportivo had most of the ball, with 84 percent of possession.

Barmbek-Süd's Valentinus Nembhard got himself booked for a foul. Unfortunately for Desportivo, Wesley Haynes was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. Jermaine Gatheral replaced him. 67 minutes into the game, Colin Boute almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Desportivo's Dennis Løvenkrands left the field after 68 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Ellis Craddock. 0 - 1 was the score with 70 minutes played, after Patrick Verzelen cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Desportivo. Desportivo had to make a substitution after 72 minutes. Russ Stonehouse limped off the field and was replaced by Connor Diffley. Usually a powerful player on the field, Valentinus Nembhard looked kind of pale and tired under the hot sun. The home crowd cheered when, after 82 minutes, Jérôme Malaise's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Barmbek-Süd's Humbert Mönnigmann had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 84 minutes having been played. Nino Hertzberg was the replacement. In a rapid move 85 minutes into the match, Ellis Craddock of Desportivo lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked Patrick Verzelen who easily hit it home to make it 0 - 2. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy! Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Desportivo, with 83 percent of the ball.

Barmbek-Süd's best player was Casimir Ahrens. However, Valentinus Nembhard made a disastrous appearance. Desportivo's top performer was clearly Mario Roberto. Connor Diffley turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
