Due to an all-day shower, 2068 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Highbury. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Siro Fundoni and Inge Stjernlind. ARSENAL decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Hodnik - De Bakker, Bakarić, Bennasar - Guinand, Sarri, Alencar, Petermichl, van der Graft - Mihorko, Gattini.

Husaria tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Main - Godbom, Yağız, Váňa - Kremer, Fülöp, Mencel, Gruber, Simbula - Montes de Oca, Marinov.

Husaria saw most attack opportunities on the wings, taking advantage of their excellent level with that tactic. Thighs bulging, Jan Váňa charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. Javier Gattini gave ARSENAL the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 Erich Gruber was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by Dimitar Marinov. At last, Husaria's Róbert Fülöp was able to backheel the ball in. 1 - 1. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Philippe Guinand, but the ARSENAL player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! After 42 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after Mariusz Mencel made it through the middle and struck home to make it 2 - 2. With 43 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 3 - 2 lead as Tim Petermichl flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. It was 3 - 2 at the break. ARSENAL had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

Philippe Guinand should probably have put his team up another goal after 47 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Shayne Main kept the visitors in the game. Things were deteriorating for the away team as ARSENAL scored another to make it 4 - 2 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Philippe Guinand after 56 minutes. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in ARSENAL's Javier Gattini increasing the lead to 5 - 2. By now, the players in ARSENAL felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. ARSENAL put in a good effort on the right, but Oton Mihorko saw his volley fly wide of the mark 70 minutes into the game. 73 minutes in, ARSENAL's Philippe Guinand received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by ARSENAL, with 67 percent of the ball.

Most important ARSENAL player was José Aníbal Alencar. David Sarri on the other hand, had a terrible day. Luciano Montes de Oca performed admirably for Husaria. However, Róbert Fülöp made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 2.
